Hello

I am Raul Galvez’ wife Kim. A while back I wrote this article about him in Canada’s national newspaper, The Globe and Mail.

You don’t write an obit when your husband’s still living however Raul died peacefully on August 17, 2023 just days after his 77th birthday. He is free at last, launched out on a distant cloud.  And this website now serves as an everlasting obituary to his spirit and talent.

‘Twas not ever thus

He had two sides – one is shown in the tender portrait by celebrated Argentine poet Silvina Ocampo on the About Page

I want him to be known better.

Of course, all his work is copyright so for further information please contact me at  kim.galvez@gmail.com

Kim can be reached via kim.galvez@gmail.com  with your thoughts and questions. And remember to click on his recorded voice in the poetry and music!

This web site is to show his talent, varied and multitudinous as it was.

  • Long form fiction, short stories and poetry some published but not all.
  • Musical composition and arrangements with renowned artists in Canada and in Argentina
  • Recital and singing
  • Films produced and scripts not produced
  • Documents
  • Production of film festivals
  • Interviews – with one book published and another yet to be so
  • Reportage for Radio Canada International
  • Copious correspondence, carefully preserved. Much yet unread
  • And his drawings dating back to when his mind was still crystalline.

Raul’s writing was always his strongest card. A book – part autobiography, part fever dream (with English translation) a literary conversation with Mexico’s Red Princess, Elena Poniatowska and more will be gradually added.
